The sheer power, beauty, and impact of both classic and more modern Hollywood movies resonates with everyone, regardless of their age, and continues to do so with each new generation of movie fans.
Even more recent cinematic pictures occasionally enter the public’s consciousness and remain in their hearts throughout their lives, even providing comfort during low and challenging periods of their lives.
If you’re obsessed with cars, have saved enough money, and want to own a piece, or at least a replica of a piece of automotive Hollywood history, then continue reading!
Starsky & Hutch
Starsky and Hutch was by far the ultimate comedy action television series of the entire decade of the 1970s and featured a white and red 1976 Gran Torino, nicknamed the “Striped Tomato”. The car was almost as famous as the two savvy detectives themselves, but in reality, there were four separate identical models used during the filming of the series.
For people wanting to get their hands on their own 1976 Gran Torino (and become amateur detectives in the process, of course), they are still available but are often priced upwards of $100,000.
Knight Rider
Another one of the most beloved and well-known TV series, this time from the 1980s was Knight Rider, and just as iconic as the fabulous action sequences, was the custom-built 1988 Pontiac Firebird, which was one of only three ever built.
Unfortunately, the three current owners of the original 1988 Pontiac Firebirds used in the movie have all resolutely declared that the cars will remain in the family for generations and generations to come, however you can still get your hands on the make and model of the car without the modifications.
If you do happen to find your dream car and it’s either owned by a private seller, or else displayed on the forecourt of a dealership in another state, then instead of risking damage and all manner of other things by driving it across one state or more, you should find a leading car moving quote from a company who can deliver your new car right to your door.
Fast & Furious 7
For a much more modern piece of movie history and a motorcar that should you have the right financial backing, of course, you can buy a replica of down to the smallest detail, is the Fast Attack that Jason Statham’s onscreen character Deckard Shaw, used in Fast & Furious 7.
You may well be surprised to learn that, although six of these cars were specifically built for the movie and only three survived the rigorous stunts and filming sequences, the final three are still available and making their way from the hands of one movie enthusiast to another.
Each of the three remaining Fast Attack vehicles used in the movie boast a huge, LS1 5.3-liter engine and an incredibly stunning customized chassis specifically designed for off-road use and owning one would truly set you apart from the average automobile movie fan.
